Soviel kann aber bereits gesagt werden, bei dem iPhone 3GS und natürlich bei dem iPhone 4 gibt es keine Einschränkungen bei den neuen Funktionen. Das iPhone 3GS unterstützt lediglich Facetime NICHT.

Unter dem Motto “Get a sneak peek into the future of iPhone OS.”, läuft gerade die iPhone OS 4.0 Keynote. Dabei wird viel versprochen, unter anderem auch das lang ersehnte MULTITASKING. Ja richtig gelesen, endlich Multitasking auf dem iPhone, aber das ist noch nicht alles.

Per Doppelklick auf die Home-Tase, öffnet sich das folgende Multitasking Menü:

Insgesamt können 7 Apps parallel laufen. WOW!

OS 4.0 kommt diesen Sommer sowohl auf dem iPhone 3GS, dem iPod touch (3. Generation) als auch auf dem iPad ( allerdings erst im Herbst 2010) zum Einsatz. Das iPhone 3G und der iPod touch (2.Generation) werden ebenfalls in den Genuss vieler Neuerungen des OS 4.0 kommen, müssen allerdings auf Multitasking verzichten.

Neben Multitasting für das iPhone, gibt es als weiteres Schmankerl eine “Unified inbox”:

Dabei werden die eMails sämtlicher Konten in einer gemeinsamen Inbox angezeigt. Somit muss nicht immer jedes Konto einzeln abgefragt werden.

Selbstverständlich können auch, wie bisher, die Accounts einzeln genutzt werden.

Mit “Folders” kommt nun endlich auch die langersehnte Ordnerfunktion für das iPhone. Zeit zum Aufräumen, nun können die Apps endlich thematisch sortiert werden. Der Inhalt eines Ordner sieht dann beispielsweise so aus:

Weiters wurde iBooks in das iPhone integriert. Dank eines “Delightful ebook reader” soll das Lesen auch augenschonend sein. Die ebooks werden einmal im Store gekauft und können dann (Account gebunden) auf allen tauglichen Apple Geräten gelesen werden.

Social Gaming – Mit dem Satz “Wow. So Apple’s got their Xbox Live. This is kind of huge. Achievements, leaderboards, match making.”, leutet Steve Jobs die Ära des Social Gaming auf dem iPhone ein.

Das ist aber noch nicht alles, gerade in Bezug auf Datensicherheit und Schnittstellen/Ports wurde ebenfalls nachgebessert. So wird es künftig auch eine SSL/VPN Unterstützung geben. YEAH:

Mit dem Update iTunes 9 kommt auch gleichzeitig das iPhone Konfigurationsprogramm
Mit dem iPhone-Konfigurationsprogramm können ganz einfach Konfigurationsprofile erstellt, verschlüsselt und installiert werden. Weiterhin können Vorlageprofile und zugelassene Programme gesucht und installiert sowie Geräte-Informationen, einschließlich Konsolenprotokolle, abrufen werden.

Bei Konfigurationsprofilen handelt es sich um XML-Dateien, die folgende Informationen enthalten: Geräte-Sicherheitsrichtlinien und -beschränkungen, VPN-Konfigurationsinformationen, Wi-Fi-Einstellungen, APN-Einstellungen, Exchange-Account-Einstellungen, E-Mail-Einstellungen und Zertifikate, die dem iPhone und iPod touch die Arbeit in Ihren Firmensystemen erlauben.
