Agreed. As someone who spent a few months learning (obsessing over) the techniques of hand stitching leather, I can confirm that these bands have poor stitchwork. The leather is at least cut well (obviously using a die cutter), but the double stitching at the ends is far too bulky and it looks like the stitches aren't aligned well enough for the full length of the stitch. I'm also not a big fan of unfinished ends on softer leather like this - they will likely start to fray a bit after a while, which will make the nicely cut edges look like they were cut with a pair of children's scissors.

The Hermes bands are by far the nicest looking leather bands available for the Apple Watch, but then, Hermes makes some of the finest hand stitched merchandise available, if not most expensive.

p.s. This is a sunglasses case I stitched by hand - the stitches aren't perfect, but better than the PaQ straps, at least in my opinion:

Not just you. I agree. This one does look particularly sloppy.
(Their phone cases look better quality though).

That said, proper decent ones like the Hermes ones look pretty fantastic.

This one has been popping up in the adspace for me on MacRumors - looks pretty nice. http://www.hellonomad.com/products/strap?gclid=CNy3xMmeoMkCFQcdaQod6-kIbA
